‘District Terminal’ to compete at Berlinale’s Encounters

‘District Terminal’ from Iran and Germany is to compete at the 2021 Berlinale.

Iranian-German film ‘District Terminal’ has been selected to compete at the 2021 edition of the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale).

Co-directed by Bardia Yadegari and Ehsan Mirhosseini, the movie will go on screen at the Encounters section of the 71st edition of the German event.

‘District Terminal’ is about a drug-addicted poet named Peyman who attempts to finish a poem about his city that falls prey to pollution and a lethal virus.

The cast members of the film include Yadegari, Maryam Moradi, and Ali Kamali.

The Berlinale, along with the Cannes and Venice Film Festivals, is one of the largest and most important film festivals in the world. It also hosts the largest European film market.

The 2021 edition of the event will take place in two parts; an industry-focused, online-only event running on March 1-5, and a Summer Special event featuring physical screenings, slated for June 9-20.
